Chapter 01 · Getting started

Your venue, up and running.

What you get when your venue is created, what to install on each simulator PC, and how to run your first paid session. Most venues finish this in an afternoon.

Where to find it·Admin panel Settings and each rig PC

Multitap has two halves. The admin panel runs in a browser at your own address and needs no installation. The rigs run a launcher and a small in-game app, which you install once per simulator. This chapter takes you from a new venue to your first paid session, in the order that works.

What you receive

When your venue is created you get three things: an address of the form your-venue.mlttp.com, an admin email and password, and a venue API key. The address is your admin panel, and the base for your public pages (booking, leaderboards, leagues, registration). The key is what your rigs use to prove they belong to you. Keep it with your other credentials; it is shown once.

Try it before you buy it

Everything in this guide can be clicked through on the demo venue at demo.mlttp.com. The credentials are on the home page. The demo has simulated rigs that respond to sessions and launches, so the Launcher and Groups pages behave as they would with real hardware.

The first hour: the admin panel

  1. Sign in.

Open your address, enter the email and password. You land on the Dashboard. Chapter 02 covers the layout.

  2. Brand it.

Go to Settings. Set the Venue Name, upload your logo, and set the Primary Color. From this point the login card, the TV displays and the rig launcher carry your brand. Enter the Assetto Corsa install path your rigs use.

  3. Build the catalogue.

On Cars & Tracks, press Scan Server Content or upload a ZIP of your content. Check the Needs Review list and give any unclassified cars a class; classes are what make leaderboards and Discord posts work. Chapter 09.

  4. Make a board.

On Leaderboard, create a board for a track you know customers will drive, and copy its landscape display address for later. Chapter 07.

The second hour: the rigs

Repeat this on each simulator PC. The full detail is in Chapter 16.

  1. Run the installer.

It asks for your address, Venue ID and API Key, finds Assetto Corsa, and installs the in-game lap app. If you run ACC or iRacing, tick the option to start the collector with Windows.

  2. Start the launcher and connect it.

Copy the launcher program to the rig, start it, press Shift + F4, enter the same address, Venue ID and API Key, tick SSL, and save. The Standing by screen should read CONNECTED.

  3. Map the wheel.

In the same hidden menu, open Configure Controls and bind Accept, Cancel, Left, Right and the rest to the wheel. Save and drive the wizard yourself once.

  4. Name the rig at the desk.

Back in the admin panel the rig has appeared on the Launcher page. Name it under Settings, Saved Sims, so staff see Cockpit 1 rather than sim-1. Set it to start with Windows.

The first session

  1. Register the driver.

Open the registration page on a tablet at the desk and have them fill it in, or add them on the Drivers page. This links their laps to a real name and an email. Chapter 08.

  2. Start the session.

On the Launcher page, click their rig, type their name and press a time. The rig wakes with their name on it.

  3. Launch.

Either let them drive the wizard on the wheel, or pick a car and track at the desk and press Launch. Chapter 03.

  4. Watch the board.

Their first lap appears on the leaderboard display and in the Dashboard's activity feed. If they registered with an email and you have switched email on, they get a welcome message.

The first week

None of these are needed on day one, and each takes about ten minutes.
