Multitap ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website multitap.space, use your Multitap account at account.multitap.space, and use our sim racing center management software, including Multitap Cloud.

01Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

• Inquiries: When you send an inquiry through our website, we receive your name, email address, phone number (optional), venue name, number of simulators, the type of inquiry and your message.
• Waitlist: When you join the Multitap Cloud waitlist, we receive your name, email address, venue name, number of simulators and, if you give it, your location.
• Account Information: When you create a Multitap account, we store your email address and your password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash, never as the password itself.
• Venue and Order Information: When you order Multitap Cloud, we store your venue name, your venue's web address, its time zone, the number of simulators and broadcast PCs, and the status of your order and subscription.
• Payment Information: Payments are made on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe handles your card details, and Multitap does not receive or store your card number. We keep the references Stripe gives us for your customer record, subscription and payments.
• Demo and service bookings: When you book a free sales demo or a paid white-glove installation or remote diagnostics and consultation session, we create an event in our Google Calendar with a Google Meet link and invite your email address. The event includes your venue name or the name you give us, and Google emails you the invitation.
• Discord Support: When you click Join support on your venue page, Discord asks you to approve the connection. We use your Discord user ID to add you to the Multitap Discord server with access to your venue's private support channel.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system. Our inquiry and waitlist forms also record the IP address each form was sent from.
• Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on site, click patterns
• Cookies: We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and functionality

02How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and demo requests
• Understand trial setup and improve onboarding: we retain first and latest campaign/referral attribution, landing path, referring website, and account activity such as rig connections, sessions, group launches, broadcast connections, laps, checkout and trial expiry. Trial device identifiers are hashed. A private owner view and notifications to [email protected] include trial contact details, source and progress. Trial check-ins may be sent about every other day; use the preferences link to opt out of those check-ins. Essential account and expiry notices continue.
• Contact waitlist members when Multitap Cloud signup opens
• Provide, maintain, and improve our software services, including setting up and hosting your Multitap Cloud venue
• Process transactions and send related information
• Send account emails, such as email verification, password resets, the message that your venue is ready, and security notices about your venue
• Schedule and run free sales demos and paid installation or consultation sessions and give you access to your Discord support channel
• Send promotional communications (with your consent)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

03Cookies and Tracking

We use the following tracking technologies:

• Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function properly. Your Multitap account uses a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in.
• Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site

We do not use third-party advertising pixels. You can control cookies through your browser settings, or through the cookie consent banner on our site. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

04Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate our business (hosting, email, analytics), listed below
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Our Service Providers

• Stripe processes payments and receives your account email address so it can bill you and send receipts.
• Cloudflare sits in front of our website, the Multitap account site and Multitap Cloud venue addresses, and handles the traffic to them.
• Google provides Google Analytics on our website, the web fonts our pages load, and the Google Calendar and Google Meet invitations for sales demos and installation or consultation sessions.
• Zoho Mail sends our account emails and the emails from our website forms, and hosts our own mailbox.
• Amazon SES delivers the emails that Multitap Cloud venues send to their drivers from a Multitap address.
• Discord hosts the Multitap Discord server, including each venue's private support channel.

05Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission
• Account passwords stored only as secure hashes, and card details kept with Stripe rather than on our systems
• Secure data storage with access controls
• Regular security assessments
• Employee training on data protection

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

06Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:

• Provide our services to you
• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

Inquiry information is retained for up to 2 years. Customer data is retained for the duration of the business relationship plus 5 years.

When a Multitap Cloud subscription ends, we keep the venue's data for 30 days so the venue can request an export.

07Driver and Lap Data

Multitap's sim racing center software captures lap times, telemetry, and driver-identifying information at the rig. Venues can also keep a record for each driver they register: first and last name, email address, and optionally a birthdate and social handle, along with whether the driver agreed to receive email from the venue. On Multitap Cloud we host this data for the venue on our servers. With Multitap Event, or a self-hosted license, the data stays on your own hardware.

VenueLaps: Each new Multitap Cloud venue is linked to the global VenueLaps leaderboard network (venuelaps.com) with publishing turned on. While publishing is on, laps by the venue's registered drivers are sent to VenueLaps together with the driver's name and email address, and VenueLaps displays driver names, lap times, and rankings publicly. A venue can turn publishing off at any time in Settings > VenueLaps, which hides all of its laps on VenueLaps.

Venue emails: When a Multitap Cloud venue emails its drivers from a Multitap address, the email is delivered through Amazon SES. Marketing emails go only to drivers who agreed to receive email from the venue, and every one carries an unsubscribe link.

Discord: If a venue connects its own Discord server, the Multitap bot posts updates there, such as race results and leaderboard updates, which can include driver names and lap times.

If you are a driver using a Multitap-equipped venue: your venue operator is responsible for posting any required notices and obtaining consent before collecting your information.

If you are a venue operator: you are responsible for ensuring you have proper consent to collect and process driver data through our platform, in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

08Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal information
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications
• Data Portability: Receive your data in a portable format

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to know what personal information is collected

We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

10International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using our services, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

11Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it.
