As listed on shiftos.app in October 2026, Multitap costs less than ShiftOS Operate plus Launch at every sim count. For 6 sims it is $210 vs $350 per month; for 10 sims, $325 vs $450; for 20 sims, $325 vs $700. ShiftOS includes booking and payments, so the services are different.
As listed in October 2026, ShiftOS pricing is $200 per venue per month for required Operate, plus $25 per sim per month for Launch. Operate includes booking, payments, memberships, waivers and kiosk. Service is month to month. Launch is listed for Assetto Corsa. The pricing page offers a demo; it does not list a free trial.
A few years ago, "sim racing venue software" mostly meant a spreadsheet and a leaderboard someone built on a weekend. In 2026 that's no longer true. There are now several mature, purpose-built platforms. Each is shaped by the kind of business that built it, and each leans toward a different priority: front desk and payments, enterprise scale, European lounges, budget Assetto Corsa control, or growth and retention.
The trick is that "best" depends entirely on what you're running. A 30-rig franchise location has very different needs than a four-sim independent lounge trying to fill weeknights. Below we compare five of these platforms, with honest strengths and trade-offs for each, plus a clear "best for" so you can find yourself in the list.
VenueChief, Sim-Department and GTLane also make venue software, and they are in our full side-by-side of all ten platforms, checked October 18, 2026.
Full disclosure: Multitap publishes this post, and we think it's the strongest pick for a specific kind of venue. We've tried hard to keep the rest of the roundup fair and accurate, including the places where a competitor simply does more than Multitap does.
What to Look for in Venue Management Software
Before the head-to-head, here's the checklist that actually matters when you're choosing:
- Bookings & scheduling: Take reservations and fill open rig time.
- Payments & front desk: POS, kiosk check-in, memberships, gift cards (if you need them).
- Race control & leaderboards: Launch and manage sessions, show real-time rankings.
- Retention & marketing: Automatically bring customers back instead of waiting for them.
- Sim support: The titles your customers actually want to drive.
- Deployment: Cloud-only, self-hosted, or both.
- Pricing transparency & support: Can you see the price, and can you reach a human in your timezone?

Detailed Reviews
Multitap
Growth & retention software for US independents
Multitap (USA-based) takes a deliberately narrow stance: it's engagement software, with bookings planned for late October 2026, not a front-desk suite. There are no payments, kiosk, memberships, or gift cards, by design. Instead it pours its energy into getting customers to come back.
Its marketing automation emails drivers when their times are beaten, along with milestones, birthdays and weekly digests, creating a competitive loop that runs without staff effort. In traffic mode, several drivers join the same traffic server and weave through AI traffic side by side, in the spirit of No Hesi, and every score lands on its own traffic leaderboard. The VenueLaps network ties venues together into a global cross-venue leaderboard, and a full Discord community bot keeps the conversation going between visits. Multitap covers Assetto Corsa (complete), ACC, and iRacing leaderboards, runs as Multitap Cloud (available now), and publishes its pricing, as ShiftOS, VenueChief, VMS, Assetto Hosting and GTLane also do. An offline, LAN-only edition called Multitap Event is coming soon for mobile sim racing trailers and events.
Strengths
- Retention and marketing automation built around every lap
- Group traffic mode + VenueLaps global leaderboard
- Full Discord community bot, plus leagues with public standings
- Multitap Cloud available now, with an offline Multitap Event edition coming soon for trailers and events
- Transparent public pricing + live self-serve demo
- USA-based support
Considerations
- Bookings are planned for late October 2026, and there are no payments, kiosk, memberships, or gift cards (run a separate POS)
- Sim coverage focused on AC / ACC / iRacing
- Best fit for venues prioritizing growth over all-in-one front-desk tooling
Best for: US independents focused on growth and retention who want transparent pricing and already have their own payment setup. Open the live demo →
ShiftOS
All-in-one front desk and payments (USA, California)
ShiftOS combines a hosted venue platform with software on each simulator. Operate covers bookings, payments, memberships, waivers and kiosk. Launch adds the on-sim controls. Optional modules have separate prices.
Strengths
- True all-in-one: payments, kiosk, memberships, credits, vouchers and discounts
- Subscriptions, leagues and leaderboards built in; CRM as the optional Engage module
- USA-based, and runs Shift Arcade's own venues
- Published pricing: $200 per venue plus $25 per sim (October 2026)
Considerations
- $200 per venue + $25 per sim/month
- Hosted service with monthly subscription pricing
- Win-back, birthday and post-visit automations are the Engage add-on, $100 per venue per month (October 2026)
Best for: venues that want a single all-in-one front-desk and payments platform.
VMS V5.0
Enterprise incumbent (UK, Sim Racing Limited)
VMS, from UK-based Sim Racing Limited, has been at this since 2003 and runs in 30+ countries. It's the enterprise heavyweight: kiosk, multiple payment technologies, CRM, staff rotas and bookings through third-party apps, memberships, dashboards, an API, white-label, GDPR tooling, telemetry, smart-TV spectator screens, championships, and managed/unattended operating modes. It also has the widest sim support of anyone here: iRacing, AC, Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2, AMS, AMS2, LFS, rFactor 1, and Project CARS 2. See our VMS alternative breakdown for the full picture.
Strengths
- Most mature, broadest feature set of the group
- Widest sim title support
- White-label, API, staff rotas, unattended modes
- 20+ year track record across 30+ countries
Considerations
- Publishes a starting price of 10 GBP per pod per month, but not its tier prices
- UK-based support (timezone gap for US venues)
- Enterprise depth can be overkill for a small lounge
Best for: large, multi-location enterprises needing the widest sim support and white-label scale.
LoungeControl
Polished European lounge platform (Germany)
LoungeControl, by Home of Sim Racing (operating since 2017 across 17+ countries), is a slick remote-control and operations platform. It pairs LOUNGECONTROL24 online booking (its page lists payment as coming soon) with local and global leaderboards, RACEDATA.ai telemetry, offline mode, button-box integration, broadcast control, a Driver Performance Index, and a Street Racing (traffic) mode. Notably, it offers both a global leaderboard and a street/traffic mode, so those aren't unique to anyone. More detail in our LoungeControl alternative guide.
Strengths
- Online booking + full remote control
- Local and global leaderboards
- Street/traffic mode, broadcast control, Driver Performance Index
- Free unlimited API and offline mode
Considerations
- Pricing isn't public
- Germany-based support (timezone gap for US venues)
- Online payment is listed as coming soon, and driver marketing automation is not published
Best for: European lounges wanting a polished bookings-plus-control platform.
Assetto Hosting: Simcenter Control
Budget Assetto Corsa control (Andorra)
Assetto Hosting SLU (Andorra) takes the leanest approach: a low-cost remote-control panel paired with AC server hosting. You get remote session control, driver-name identification, driving aids, force-feedback and preset management, branded embeddable leaderboards, automatic mod sync, remote shutdown, and multi-center support, all on a managed install. It's AC-focused and its page does not list bookings or payments, but at from €10 per simulator a month it has the lowest published entry price here for running an Assetto Corsa floor. See our Assetto Hosting alternative writeup.
Strengths
- Lowest entry price here (from €10 per simulator a month)
- Solid AC remote control: aids, FFB, presets, mod sync
- Branded, embeddable leaderboards + multi-center
- Managed install and a live demo panel
Considerations
- Assetto Corsa only (no ACC/iRacing/etc.)
- Bookings, payments and POS not published
- Andorra-based support (timezone gap for US venues)
Best for: budget-conscious, AC-only venues that just need clean remote control.
Key Differentiators
Retention vs. front desk
The biggest philosophical split is between platforms that run your counter and platforms that run your growth. ShiftOS and VMS are deep front-desk suites with payments, kiosk, and memberships. Multitap deliberately skips all of that and instead includes the re-engagement loop (lap emails, record challenges, Discord) in its price. At ShiftOS, win-back, birthday and post-visit automations are the $100 a month Engage add-on.
The Math on Marketing Automation
If automated re-engagement brings back just 2 to 3 extra customers a month at a $50 average session, that's $100 to $150 in new revenue monthly. That alone covers most or all of a 4-sim Multitap subscription, which is $140 a month.
Pricing transparency
Multitap is $35 per sim, per month. Running 10 or more sims? $325 a month covers your whole venue. ShiftOS lists $200 per venue plus $25 per sim per month for Operate and Launch. Assetto Hosting starts from €10 per simulator per month, and VMS publishes a starting price of 10 GBP per pod per month. LoungeControl does not publish its prices.
Deployment & support location
Both ShiftOS and Multitap Cloud are hosted services. Multitap Cloud runs your rigs and keeps your drivers connected through VenueLaps. The offline LAN-only Multitap Event edition is coming soon.
Sim support breadth
If you need the longest list of titles, VMS wins outright (iRacing, AC, Le Mans Ultimate, rF2, AMS/AMS2, LFS, rF1, Project CARS 2). Multitap covers AC, ACC, and iRacing; Assetto Hosting is AC-only. Match this to what your customers actually drive rather than chasing the biggest list.
Our Recommendation
There's no universal winner. There's a winner for you:
- US independents focused on growth & retention: Multitap, with automated re-engagement, transparent pricing, a cloud product that's available now, and a live demo you can open right now.
- All-in-one front desk: ShiftOS (payments, kiosk, memberships, credits and vouchers in one system).
- Large enterprise / widest sims: VMS V5.0 (deepest feature set, white-label, broadest title support).
- European lounges: LoungeControl (polished bookings-plus-control with global leaderboards and street mode).
- Budget, AC-only floors: Assetto Hosting (clean remote control from €10 per simulator a month).
The real question isn't "which is cheapest?" but "which one matches how I make money?" If that's repeat visits and community for a US independent, Multitap is built for exactly that, and you can prove it to yourself before talking to anyone.

Make an Inquiry →Questions to Ask During Your Evaluation
Whichever way you lean, put every vendor through the same questions:
- Do I actually need a built-in POS, or do I already have one?
- How does re-engagement work, and what triggers emails or challenges?
- Which sims are fully supported versus partially supported?
- Is it cloud-only, self-hosted, or both?
- Is pricing public, and what does it include at my number of sims?
- Where is support based, and does it cover my peak evening hours?
- Can I see it running (ideally in a live demo) before I commit?
Take a demo from each shortlisted vendor and, where you can, talk to a current customer. Once you map each platform's strengths onto your own business, the right pick usually becomes obvious.
